After the post on Monday talking about films, comparing originals to their remakes, I’ve had readers inquiring as to what my favorite movies are. Trying to narrow it down is like trying to pick an ultimate food, animal, or color. I think for some people this may come easier than for others. For me, it’s practically torture; I’m sure I’m forgetting some great ones that just won’t come to mind at the moment.
My favorites can fluctuate depending on my mood, the time of day, what I have going on, etc. So, I’ve done my best to break it down to 100 of my favorite films. I have simply listed them in alphabetical order, not by rating or rank. But I have reserved the best, and they will be featured Friday for my Top 5 of the week.
Did your all-time favorites make the list? Let me know which ones I’ve left out. I tried to remember them all, but I know I’m probably forgetting some wonderful classics and will have to amend this list in the near future. Check back Friday for the overall Top 5.

🙂 I know, I was so torn. I love the musical, but just couldn’t quite put it on the movie list even though it’s a classic.
Sarah how dare you forget National Lampoon’s Vacation & Christmas Vacation! Keep up the awesome work I love to read Sezen!

Christmas Vacation is a must. I think you’ll be happy to see it made the ultimate Top 5 https://sezenyourlife.com/2012/03/23/top-5-movies/. I’m glad you like the site, thanks so much!
Some great choices – almost have to have seperate lists for musicals, animation, scifi, etc.
I keep thinking of movies not on the list – I may have to have a movie month.
Have you seen “The Wedding Date” with Debra Messing & Dermot Mulroney. LOVE IT!!!
I often think of movies in terms of for mom, for mom and kids, for mom and dad, and for all the family.
I remember some great conversations during and after some movies –
hope the boys remember some of them also, but I’m sure not as much as I do.

Yes, I agree; I almost need to do the top 5 or 10 of each category. There are just too many wonderful films. I don’t think I have ever seen The Wedding Date, but it is on our DVD list now. It is amazing the way movies can be such a platform to impact our lives. They were always a fun part of family nights at our place, and I hope we can continue the tradition with our kids.
Second thought. Do you prefer the original, the remake or both.
Amazing how many have been remade.

It depends on the movie. I am sad to say there are a few on this list that I have not seen both the original and the remake. So I am just listing the ones I have viewed and liked. To try to clear up any confusion, I have added the films’ release dates in parenthesis behind the titles. The few that I have not viewed their original or remade forms, I will try to watch soon and update the list if needed. If you can think of any others that I need to watch, let me know and I’ll add them to our queue. Thanks!
